Starbucks Unveils NEW Summer Menu Inc. Very Berry Hibiscus Refresha
- Starbucks introduces new cold foam and summer drink flavors
- Revived Very Berry Hibiscus Refresha hits UK stores for the first time
- Exclusive early access for Starbucks Rewards members starts tomorrow
Starbucks is set to spice up its drink offerings this summer with a series of new additions and a nostalgic revival. From tomorrow, more than 1,100 Starbucks locations across the UK will feature the reintroduction of the Very Berry Hibiscus Refresha, a beloved drink previously discontinued in the US. This marks the first time the flavor will grace the UK menu, sparking excitement among fans.
The Refresha beverages, which blend cold fruit juice with real fruit pieces over ice, will see the addition of three new fruit drink options. Additionally, a novel cold foam inspired by the dessert crème brûlée will also debut, offering an indulgent topping that can be added to any Starbucks drink. This new foam option is part of Starbucks' response to the American trend of elaborate drink customizations, with suggestions for pairing it best with a cold brew, iced brown sugar oat shaken espresso, and brown sugar Frappuccino.
The reintroduction of the Very Berry Hibiscus flavor, which was removed from the US menu in 2021 due to supply issues, has been long awaited by stateside fans. While there’s no word on its return to the US markets, its debut in the UK could be a test before a wider reintroduction.
Also returning to the UK menu are the mango and dragonfruit Refresha flavors, with a new twist that incorporates coconut, available for a limited time. Depending on customer demand, these seasonal offerings are usually available for around eight weeks.
Prices vary by location, with the Very Berry Hibiscus Refresha costing £4.35 for a tall, and the mango dragonfruit (including the new coconut version) priced at £4.75. The crème brûlée cold foam's cost will vary depending on the base drink, adding a sophisticated dessert flair to the beverages.
For those in the Starbucks Rewards loyalty scheme, there's an opportunity to try these new flavors starting tomorrow, ahead of the general release on May 2. The loyalty program offers perks like free drinks and early access to new products for its members.
Lynsey Barber, a consumer news editor at The Sun, had an early taste of the new lineup and was impressed, particularly by the crème brûlée cold foam, which she noted added a custard-like flavor with hints of caramel and vanilla to her drinks. The Very Berry Hibiscus was also a hit, proving to be the perfect refreshing choice for a warm day.
Tom Church, Co-Founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, commented, "Starbucks is tapping into both nostalgia and innovation with their latest drink offerings, potentially setting a trend for the summer. It's a smart move to lure in both new customers and returning fans."
