Tesco Discontinues Popular Gluten-Free Mozzarella Sticks
- Tesco has discontinued its gluten-free mozzarella sticks.
- The product was a popular alternative to McDonald’s mozzarella bites.
- Shoppers took to social media to express their disappointment.
Tesco has announced that it will no longer carry its popular gluten-free mozzarella sticks, much to the disappointment of its customers. The supermarket giant confirmed that the product, which was a favourite among shoppers looking for gluten-free alternatives to McDonald’s mozzarella bites, has been discontinued.
In response to a customer's inquiry on social media, a Tesco customer service representative confirmed the news, stating, "Hi Anita. I am sorry but this product has been discontinued I am afraid. Thank You – Craig."
The gluten-free mozzarella sticks, available in Tesco’s own brand and under the brand Really?!, were a beloved option for those with dietary restrictions. Priced competitively, these frozen treats offered a tasty alternative to McDonald’s non-gluten-free mozzarella bites.
Chiara Fiorillo reported in The Sun that the decision to discontinue the product has left many fans gutted. One customer expressed their frustration online, lamenting the absence of the product in their local store. Tesco’s gluten-free mozzarella sticks were known for being an affordable and convenient snack, mirroring the deep-fried, breadcrumb-coated cheese bites offered by the fast-food chain.
This isn't the first time Tesco has disappointed its loyal customers. Recently, the supermarket also discontinued other popular items such as roast potato seasoning and its Finest salted caramel cream liqueur, both of which garnered a similar outcry from shoppers.
Tom Church, Co-Founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, says, "It's always disappointing when a favourite product is discontinued. Hopefully, Tesco will introduce new alternatives that will satisfy their loyal customers."
