I've used it a couple of times to sell, here's how it goes:

1) You list an item with actual photos, decent description, and a realistic price (not too expensive nor too cheap, just in between).

2) Someone buys it.

3) Vinted provides a shipping label and you drop it at the store they accept (i.e. Evri/Yodel/Royal Mail/etc).

4) Once the buyer receives or picks up, it gets ticked as delivered and if he/she doesn't automatically confirm it, the system itself will after a few days and the money will be available afterwards.

As for being a buyer...

Just be careful with scammers, dubious prices, mirrored photos, zero feedback sellers, and so on.

I recently bought a game from a zero feedback seller, but she looked genuine so that's why I bought it. I've bought a bunch of games from Vinted and will be trading them abroad for cash as they're worth more there and will be staying there for a while.

I think I may have bought from 2 sellers in the past, decent experience, I haven't yet sold on there.

There is a previous forum post where people discussed Vinted, if you wanted to have a look: www.latestdeals.co.uk/chat/selling-vinted

It's really good I was a bit unsure from using depop and ebay. It's great the buyer pays the postage and there's no fee's and the buyer has 2 days to report any problems, the tracking is provided by vinted. I think it's more technically improved In my opinion.

I tried to sell some of my daughters clothes on the site, i sold one batch but after posting costs I think I made a pound, so didn’t bother again. Her other clothes could still be on the site somewhere!

I think vinted is OK, but be cautious with scammers. I follow a FB group and I've seen issues with both buyers and sellers getting messed around, Vinted isn't always great at helping resolve issues so I'd start off selling cheaper stuff to get use to it before you sell expensive stuff.

Midnightflower seeing PS5 consoles sell for £55.88 is an obvious scam, but someone probably falls for it.

Does the scammer get the money? No, unless the buyer gets the order and doesn't complain then it could.

PhilipMarc I've heard of buyers claiming items are fake and receiving refunds, items turning up that weren't what people ordered and funds being released to sellers. Lots of issues with items being sent substandard when described as immaculate and buyers having to pay for returns. I think eBay needs the competition but unfortunately vinted doesn't seem to be able to deal with issues/scams very well in some cases and the buyer's protection fee seems to do nothing.

Midnightflower I had an experience like that with a seller that had solid feedback.

Essentially, photos looked good, but what turned up was pretty much dirty junk and I had to send it back for a refund. In this case Vinted should provide a return label since the seller was at fault.

PhilipMarc I agree, it's something they need to improve on. EBAY fees are a joke these days, so I hope vinted can step up.

I love using Vinted. Sold quite a lot of unwanted clothes/shoes/brand new cosmetics etc on there.

Only ever come across two issues since started selling about two years ago. It can be hot and miss if people buy but I put mine in a draw in the spare room to keep them separate.

Always write any flaws or such in the description and take photos of it.

I use the evri postage and Royal Mail. Evri the buyer pays postage and you then print a label. Royal Mail they do pay postage but you have to pay it first to post the item, I use the online Royal Mail buying postage and find it easy to use.

When buyer collects they have two days to say if any thing is wrong or they confirm and the money is released.

No fees which is a bonus.

kimcress True, fees are for the buyers (buyer protection + shipping).

But I'd not feel safe shipping a £100~200+ item via Evri. 🫤

PhilipMarc I agree with you regarding Evri. I have had problem with them in the past related to missing or damaged parcels.

Never had a problem with evri.

Don’t sell expensive items on there, rather sell them face to face. Unused/unwanted cheaper items sell on there.

Buyer protection is there if parcel doesn’t turn up etc, buyer and seller both get the funds for missing items so neither is out of pocket.

kimcress "Never had a problem with Evri."

I agree to an extent, but I'd not trust them for an item worth £100~200 or more.

And if I sold an item of that value on Vinted and they provided me with an Evri/Yodel label, I'd be between: Cancel the order OR Ship it (and hope it'd be delivered)

I’ve not had a problem with evri, I tried inpost and they lost the parcel.

Wouldn’t list expensive items on there, as I said before.

How do you receive shipping label? By emai? Do you have to print? I’ve never used Evri/Yodel and wouldn’t know how. Don’t know if near me. I’d like to use vinted but just confused and wary of scammers.

It comes up in the app and they also email it to you. Print it off, attach to parcel and post in an evri parcel shop. Find it quite easy to use,

I am a bit confused about the locker service, does anyone kmow whether their should be a customers address on the parcel because all i have is a number as i wasn,t able to print off the scan which was supposed to contain a bar code so i tried another place where the lockers were full so i still have the item. Someone said i only need the number but i cant imagine it can be sent without the cudtomerd address. can anyone tell me please.

jeanmorison I had the same thing happen a while ago myself. I didn't trust it but decided to go ahead with it after I printed the recipients name and address on the parcel, which they did receive.

My husband bought something via Vinted over a week ago. The seller sent proof of posting but on inspection there’s something wrong with it. Looks like he’ll have to raise an issue. Fingers crossed for a refund.

Have never used Vinted before but have a few clothes to sell. From what I’ve read you need to print a shipping label? Well I don’t have a printer (we won’t spend the money on expensive inks) so does that mean I can’t use it? Thanks.

I sold a few items like clothes and shoes. I also bought a few from sellers who had reviews already and I received them all.

I once had a problem with a buyer that wanted a refund - it was technically my fault because I sold a pair of shoes that I have worn - but apparently they were for young boys. she found that info online and wanted a refund. but back then the buyer had to pay for shipping the shoes back to me in order to get a refund, so we decided to leave it as it is and she will resell the shoes. I ended up giving her half of the $ back via paypal out of good will 😄 buyer was then happy and she left me a good review.

Bought a few items on Wallapop (similar to Vinted) and sellers regretted selling for the price they put up, so what did they do? Cancel my order and relist.

I'll not be buying from them ever again.

Vinted penalizes sellers who do this and rightfully so.

I’ve got some great bargains of this site - brand new Kickers for £10 for my grandson starting secondary school. Brand new bedding for myself with price tag of £80 on it delivered to my door for just under £15. I’ve also sold few bits and find it much better site than eBay to buy and sell on

My husband paid for some trainers which were slow to arrive so contacted the seller who provided a proof of posting. After further investigation there was no such post office, contacted vinted as it was obviously a SCAM. Had to wait the agreed time in their t&c. Money refunded.
