Christmas Traditions At Home

How do you spend the big day? Do you go for a walk, chill in front of TV. Got the pub?
We have drinks, then dinner, then relax and chat, then dessert. After that exchange gifts and play short easy and fun games, then tea/coffee, then tv or cards. Then cheeseboard and sandwiches, drinks and then home. This is usually at my sisters.
JLouM aww sounds lovely. It's good it's relaxed. I love hearing about about how others do things
We all go to the in-laws for dinner and stay till late, only go to pub on boxing day, I get drunk once a year, and that's on boxing day
Used to go to the pub Xmas morning while the turkey was cooking, but everything has changed now.
We will watch Elf
No traditions really as Christmas is never spent in the same place two years running. Sometimes I am at one or other of my sons and their family, sometimes we are all at mine or one of them, been at my sister's a couple of times with her family. This year older son is cruising and I have persuaded younger son and his family to come to me and chill as they've had a rough year health wise, nothing serious just one thing after another. Looking forward to looking after them.
Smoked Salmon with Sour Cream on freshly baked Seeded Rolls for breakfast.
Chained to the cooker till we have Christmas Lunch. Kings Speach then fall asleep till the oh has washed up.
we have all family 6 adults and a 4 months old baby grandson this time for lunch and.drinks aplenty..i hold back a gift for each person until tea time as all excitement gone by then... nice relaxing day surrounded by loved ones.. just lost 2 special friends recently so will raise a glass for them..
Every year I make table decs for friends and family, mostly for anyone who's lost a loved one, they put them on the Christmas dinner table and light the candle in remembrance of those that are not with us anymore
slightfoot what a great idea this is!! So heartwarming~ Christmas will be bittersweet for some families
kitty88uk yes it will indeed, it's nice to be able to do something for others, especially this time of year, and I enjoy making them, I just spread out in me lounge with festive songs on and a cuppa and get cracking, it only takes me about 20 mins each, plus foraging time for the greenery
comriegold awww thankyou, it's nice to give something back, and I enjoy doing these x
slightfoot sounds fun listening to Christmas music enjoying a hot cup of tea and crafting! Well done
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
slightfoot thank you for your nice comment!! Same to you too! Hope you have fun celebrating with family and friends and get lots of great Xmas gifts
Not really traditions but our son will open his presents, then we get dressed, then my parents come over, we have dinner and then chill in front of the TV.
No idea why but I have a habit of seeing so many Christmas films on tv and I record them each year lol
I have so far watched 10 Lmao it helps me get into the festive season!
kitty88uk love it, I'm currently watching die hard, I know there's some debate about how Christmasy a film it is but i love a bit of brucy in his prime
slightfoot Thanks yeah I have heard about it lol
I haven’t seen it yet haha but I’m sure must have seen it as a kid
Cheeseboard on Christmas Eve..always.
Children are now adults but have the same stockings they have had all their lives.
Our church services are always wonderful. The celebration of the birth of Jesus is such a precious and special time
We do a bit of running around to family in the morning, get back home about 2ish, have out dinner around 4 and chill for the rest of the day, room for desert is aroun a couple of hours after the dinner, usually late afternoon before we get to open our gifts. Always like to raise a glass at dinner for those that aren't with us anymore.
