Do you ever pickup a free tesco magazine that they usually leave somewhere near the exit. They always contain a page of vouchers/coupons for you to buy a specific item that they reduce in price.
Asda do their own free magazine and so do boots, but boots seasonal magazine is a £1 if you're not a boots card holder, otherwise it's free. I think Sainsbury's charges for their monthly issue.
I remember when I used collect those free stylist issues with freebies inside 
I do pick up the Tesco mag when I see it. My local branch doesn't always get every issue. M&S have a Food magazine that is free for Sparks customers (normally costs £2). Londoners can pick up a free copy of ES Magazine every Friday with their free copy of the Evening Standard newspaper.
My Tesco Superstore sometimes stock Stylist magazine, Bridal, Making Money, The local newspaper. I take them all each month and sometimes leave them on the buses after reading them or take them to my local library and put them in the free help yourself magazine boxes.
I also pick up the magazines in Waitrose, they come free if you have a Waitrose card. I especially like the recipes.
