I don't have a gym membership. But my mum use to had to stop going because of alot of health problems. She really enjoyed it. Was good for her not just physically but mentally too. She got to meet new people so was a social thing too as well as keeping fit. The price is really cheap.

It does not worth. It costs too much but you can do so many other things without that high cost.

GavinX But it is great for both your physical and mental health too. I have found some very good value especially when you are getting access not only to the gym but to exercise glasses and swimming too.

This is a good price if you use the facilities, mine is the same if I paid without membership its £6 each time, I go 5 times a week so I'm saving loads by having a membership

I do have one but it's a bit pricey, £32 it's a very good price. I've got nothing for that price with the facilities.

I've never had one and don't plan on having one either. My mum used to have one but had to stop due to issues with her knees. My best friend has one, she hardly ever uses it, despite it costing her a fortune

MrsCraig Tell your friend she needs to get that cancelled! Dead money if it's not being used.

SamGoodship I've been telling her for months to cancel it! She is moving in the next few months so I can guarantee it will be cancelled soon!

Is there a jd gym or a gym group near you? They are alot cheaper just no swimming but the classes are Included, no contracts either which is good.

I work out at home and outdoors. £32 is worth it if you make use of the gym beyond the cost every month 😃

It’s a good price if you utilise it, if you don’t plan on swimming often might be worth going for one without a pool which often ends up costing about half that a month

I prefer dancing, walking or even the active computer games. Most people have Youtube on their smart TVs now and that is full of free tutorials and exercises you can do.

I used to love my treadmill, it takes up a lot of space and I have a lot of undiagnosed health issues, so was worth getting some money whilst it was still worth something. I do love my stepper though and even a skipping rope. I prefer to exercise in private.

£32 is a decent price, I've heard some being £10-£80, but I think the £80 ones included spa facilties too. It is like anything: if you use it, enjoy it and it adds value to your day/life then of course it is worth it, if you can afford it.

It is always worth checking if you sign up online if you can get cashback, if you are a student most Gyms have discounts, blue light card users, lots of discounts are available, it is always worth an ask. Some gyms have schemes for unemployed or those on certain benefits too or if you are overweight your GP can often refer you for so many sessions for free.

It isn't something for me, but worth it for others.

£32 a month for gym, swimming and classes sounds good to me. Think I used to pay double that

As always Gym membership is a great idea if you use it to the max. £32 would be a fair price to me.

£32 for an all inclusive membership (gym, swimming and classes) is brilliant. I pay £35 for mine and definitely worth it, as I have to exercise for physical and mental health problems (osteoporosis and anxiety), and it would be £9.50 a pop otherwise. Money well spent!

I used to but I don’t anymore. For most of the time I had a gym membership I went 4-5 times a week and occasionally went to classes so found it good value for money. I think it depends how much you go and what you get out of it whether or not it’s worth it.

If you replaced some car journeys with walking or cycling not only would you get the exercise but it would mean you save money and are effectively richer. If you commuted to work using an ebike for example the savings over a year could be huge compared to running a vehicle with fuel. It could be a fantastic holiday or even a new kitchen. If you are a two car family and become a one car family with use of a bike or ebike even more savings. £32 a month is almost £400 a year or £2000 over five years. It's a significant chunk of money.

I had gym/club membership for years but mainly used it to take the children swimming. There was also a large outdoor pool so during summer holidays we would often spend the day there.

Intend to join soon as now 65 years old and it’s important to do strength training to retain muscle mass. Running won’t do this for upper body.
