Money Saving
When you are going on holiday whether it be in the UK or abroad how do you guys save money?
A friend told me that she goes to boots for her dinner when at work and scans her advantage card and buys all her toiletries with her points she has built up and says it saves her buying it with cash.
Another friend said that when they go out to eat they take a few extra sachets or salt, pepper and any sauces, then say they build up a collection and take it with them on holiday.
A family member had said they take noodles and snacks from Aldi/Lidl with her on holiday in her suitcases so they don't always have to eat out and can snack on something in their room

I meet a friend once a week in our local weatherspoons and she gets the free refill coffee/ tea and every time she goes up she take sachets of sugar white and brown and also takes a few tea bags and uses them when she is at home. She also collects them and gives them to her mum and when the mother goes on holiday she has a clear plastic bag full of sugar and tea bags, She says it saves her a couple of euro each time going to the bar/cafe when she can go in her room and get a free drink.

Mmmmmm, I know this may come across as judgemental but I regard some of these 'money saving' ideas as stealing, pure and simple. We all have to pay more when dishonest people take salt, pepper, tea bags, sugar etc from eateries and even bigger items from hotels.
Maybe coffee shops and the like should go back to the old fashioned containers that have to be refilled, though I suppose some people would walk off with them!

Lynibis Where I work we consider the odd sachet of sauce or salt taken to be just about acceptable.
It's when we catch people emptying the whole box into a handbag that the line gets drawn.

blacklabrador yes it all adds up, 20 tea bags per day is a lot over a month, then add all the other sachets.........

Been an incredibly long time since I've been on holiday but I always hit the local supermarkets within a day or two of arrival.I always smuggle snacks into my case in hotels cos I'm a late night muncher lol.

When our children were younger we started to make them rolls at breakfast time when the maitre d came over and offered to make us a free picnic.
