What Do You Prefer a Starter or a Dessert ?
Ask a Question
I have just read that Nigella Lawson recommends ditching one part of Christmas dinner and it's divisive, it's the starter.
My husband prefers a starter, I have a sweet tooth so I prefer a dessert, plus if you are too full from the main course you can skip it, but if you have a starter it can fill you up before the main meal.
What is your preference?
I prefer a starter, so we usually have a fairly big gap between mains and dessert as everyone is to full to have it straight away. I don't get how people manage 3 course meals, it's to much for me.
Midnightflower I used to be able to eat 3 courses, but not anymore. Its nice to have a leisurely meal.
I prefer a dessert as sometimes when I get a starter I don't enjoy my main meal so I like to just have my main meal first then see how I feel about a dessert if iam full I will get ice cream
If I had to choose it would be a dessert because at least you can give your tummy time to digest your dinner and have dessert when your ready later on.
I prefer starters, but if the dessert on offer is a cheeseboard, I’m happy to go for that
It all depends on what the starter or dessert is as to whether I pick one over the other. I enjoy both so just depends on what I fancy at the time.
Dessert, anyday. Have a sweet tooth. I'm pretty sure I would pick dessert over main course
I much prefer a starter. I do make the mistake at the Indian restaurant by eating too many poppodums with mango chutney and onion.
If I have a starter I am usually too full for even the main meal so I prefer to have the main and IF I have room then I share a pudding/dessert with Mr T.
I wouldn't normally have a starter as wouldn't be able to eat my main meal, but definitely a pudding.
