My mum and sister both suffer from it badly, I'm slightly luckier as it only affects my scalp. There are lots of different options which work for some more than others. Sunlight is amazing for helping. My sister uses sunbeds and my mum used to have hospital treatment many years ago. You need to be super careful with washing powder, deodorant, shower gel and anything else you put on your skin as it can make it much worse. I've heard positive stories of CBD cream and herbal creams being helpful (I got my sister some for Christmas to try). But it's a personal thing and seeing what works for your daughter's skin. Oilatum is another good one, it's not cheap but does help and is available in boots ect.

It’s usually stress related, and avoiding certain foods may ease the discomfort. My cousin often suffers most during the winter months due to the lack of sun, as she finds that the sun (perhaps how it makes her feel) improves her condition

Is it just psoriasis as I have psoriatic arthritis. I have metrojet injections every week and this really helps the psoriasis that many patches have gone. I also believe the sun helps as well. I have tried many creams but none have ever worked for me. Best she gets medical advice.

Has your daughter tried Dermol? It’s an antimicrobial emollient and absorbs quickly. You can buy it or ask your go for a prescription. It can be used as a soap substitute too.

Boots have a few psoriasis creams (on shop floor not behind counter so no steriods) that might help a lot if it’s also on her scalp then t-gel should help!

Lots of people talking about sunshine being helpful so, excuse my ignorance, would taking vitamin D3 be helpful as it is called the sunshine vitamin?

A friend suffered from Psoriasis a few years ago and mentioned oatmeal being used in a bath. Hope your daughter gets some relief quickly.
Oatmeal has long been known to soothe irritated skin — not when you eat it, but when you apply it to the skin. There are many over-the-counter oatmeal bath mixes, lotions, and soaps. But all you need is plain ground oats and a bathtub to get the helpful effects.
You’ll want to use colloidal oatmeal. This is finely ground oatmeal that dissolves in hot water and won’t clog your drain. You can buy it or make it yourself.
To make your own colloidal oatmeal, grind whole oats in a blender or food processor until the texture is a little grittier than regular flour. To see if you’ve ground it fine enough, mix a tablespoon in a cup of hot water. It should blend and stay suspended, with very little settling on the bottom.
Oatmeal has been scientifically proven to reduce skin swelling and itching. It contains fats like omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids that are healthy for your skin.

Xorex lotion. My husband uses it on his and it’s a godsend. Get it from a pharmacy counter, they may have to order it in though. I work in a pharmacy and recommend it to a lot of people who have psoriasis.

I had it on my scalp so I didn't want to use lots of lotions and creams as it was a nightmare to get out!
T-Gel made it worse and other people I know had the same issue.
But oils usually help they add so much moisture to the skin, even olive oil if it's what you have to hand. Just be careful when washing it off, if she does it in the shower to not slip!
Nizoral Shampoo is always highly recommended by doctors and pharmacists for reducing flakiness, can be used on your hair or your skin. It contains Ketoconazole which is an anti fungal ingredient which can occur with Psoriasis or can appear as similar to.
Use 2x a week for up to 4 weeks if there is a flare up, then there is a prevention one you can get to use.
Remember to always read the instruction leaflet and any warnings.
Sadly it can be made worse when stressed but it can cause a lot of stress so it is a vicious cycle!
Certain foods have also be known to be a trigger for some people, so it might be worth exploring, often it is gluten or dairy.
I hope she gets some relief soon!
