How Much Do You Spend on Wrapping Gifts?
Ask a Question
How much money do you spend on wrapping gifts at Christmas? I'm talking wrapping paper, gift bags, tissue and bows.
Last year I got all of mine down to 19p a roll at a local little tesco and I've used it all this year.
Hard to put a value on it - I only buy on offer and have salvaged loads of wrapping paper and gift bags over the years to reuse. I will even use freebie newspapers so I don’t waste money on things that end up in the trash
SamGoodship That was a brilliant buy. The cheapest wrapping papers, gift bags and bows I got from Asda costs 25p each in the January sale.
I use the free 'packing' from Amazon delivery boxes to wrap but like nice ribbon decorations on the top.
It varies. I buy paper when I need it, think I spend £3 on it this year. It depends how many presents I need to wrap.
We buy 2 or 3 large 8m rolls each year from Asda this year in a fairly generic pattern that can be used all year round so covers all gift for the full year. I print my own labels for some gifts so dont really spend anything else all year.
The Christmas wrapping is really pricey! Best to get them when on sales after the festive season!
I’ve been using ones I got for free ages ago when o2 priority were doing a freebies offer where you go to WHSmith to redeem wrapping paper and Xmas cards too
We buy all our stuff in January when everything is cheap, we got wrapping paper for 25p a roll and I'm sure tags were were only 5p a bag, from Asda
Gifts are nice when they’re wrapped but it’s such. A waste of money and bad for the environment. With kids stuff i do wrap it but if it’s for adults i don’t bother
I usually wait until after Christmas and buy my wrapping paper and decorations in the sale, I haven't bought wrapping paper for about three years after buying quite a lot at 5 a roll.
About £8 on wrapping paper. I only buy for my mum, brother and my 7 fur babies. I did buy more gifts this year so spent more on paper.
Fir sone reason I've ended up with about 10 large rolls left over from previous years. I've also bought reusable bags from amazon at about 6 pounds for 8. I try to keep paper waste to a minimum xx
I try and buy in sale if I can and I'd say I've spent maybe £3 max wrapping everything and tags etc
Think I bought some in September but only at a certain price at the time. I have it ready to use now.
I buy wrapping paper on offer (like at Asda at the moment, 3 rolls for £3). Then I get creative, adding stickers and ribbons from Poundland, scraps of coloured paper from the kids' arts and crafts and even sweets!
Normally spend under 10 pounds mostly as i buy electronics items and give it without wrapper
I brought wrapping paper about 10 years ago from studio. It was on sale. Still working our way through it. I've been given bags with no names will reuse them
I used to love BHS for wrapping paper it was always good quality and had the grid lines on the back so you always cut in a straight line !
I always have some left over and keep it saved for the next year
suevernon1968 ...I prefer the wrapping paper with the grid on the back too,I can't write straight on blank paper never mind cut wrapping paper straight without a grid!
I do wrap gifts but i personally think it is pointless really cause it just goes in the bin
As little as possible. I always buy in the sales and I sometimes save ribbons etc to re-use.. Best ever bargain was when I got several rolls of paper down to 9p in Aldi, but that was quite a few years ago. I also look for plain paper in the boxing day sales and use that for birthdays.
Always get wrapping paper, tissue paper, gift tags, etc in the sales after Xmas for the following year. Works out great except for those odd times where I forget I've bought it or can't remember where I've put it away for the next year!
