Ask a Question

Just wondering what everyone does with the inevitable left over turkey?

Last year I cooked a large crown, I sliced and froze half of it straight away, then had it for new year's day.

The other half we had for Christmas dinner and boxing day cold meats

Trouble is I don't have freezer room this year, it's choc a block with me home grown veggies

So what else does everyone do other than cold turkey sarnies?

HEDGEHOGS

We like cold turkey and chips on Boxing Day and then maybe a curry with what's left.

We eat it all in sandwiches on Christmas night and Boxing Day. Weight of Turkey worked out for so many people. Never ever leftovers beyond Christmas and Boxing Day. We have it with a cheeseboard for evening nibbles.

Turkey and cranberry sandwiches on Boxing Day, I just keep it in the fridge for everyone to help theirselves and anything left over goes to the dog, it’s his Christmas too. It should last 3-4 days in the fridge.

I was talking to David1983 the other day about jacket potatoes and he said that he has a filling of chicken in creamy white wine sauce and cheese, so we're going to try that with leftover turkey

David1983 Welsh cawl is quite nice. You can use any meat really including turkey instead of lamb .....

Usually have it cold the next day in a sandwich with some stuffing and gravy. Freezing is a good idea though

We don't eat Turkey at Christmas unless it's on our Menu on our Christmas meal my partner, daughter & I have somewhere when we don't like the other choices...We LOVE Pork so have that on Christmas Day with all the trimmings including YORKSHIRE puddings, we live in God's Own County after all!
