Mars Discontinues Iconic Chocolate Bar & Shoppers Are Devastated

MARS has dropped a bombshell, they're discontinuing one of their iconic chocolate bars and fans are not happy.

So, what's on the chopping block? The famous dark chocolate Bounty bars!

James Flanders at The Sun reported that the confectionery giant axed this treat, causing quite an uproar amongst its fans. One of its most vocal fans, Piers Morgan, even took to X (formerly Twitter) lamenting about this decision. It’s clearly not just any chocolate; it’s that chocolate for many.

Remember last November when Mars "delisted" the Bounty Dark due to "temporary operational reasons"- They hinted at a comeback, but it seems this may be a permanent decision. If you're desperately searching, it looks like the bigger supermarkets are all out, but a few local sweet shops might still have some in stock. Grab them while you can!

Interestingly, this isn't the first time MARS has played with our Bounty-loving hearts. They've previously experimented with removing Bounties from their boxes of celebrations and even ran a trial to see if shoppers wanted them gone. They also offered swaps of Bounties for Maltesers post-Christmas in 2021!

But don't panic just yet. For those who can't live without their coconut fix, the classic Bounty bars are here to stay, as confirmed by a Mars Wrigley UK spokesperson. It's just the dark chocolate version that's taking a bow.
