Ikea Introduces New Points Rewards System For Family Card Members
- Ikea Family Loyalty Club members can start earning points from August 27th.
- Points can be redeemed for discounts on purchases and meals.
- Extra points available for completing tasks like creating wish lists.
Ikea is set to launch a major update to its membership scheme next week, giving customers a new way to save. Starting Tuesday, August 27th, Ikea Family Loyalty Club members will be able to earn points when shopping both in-store and online. These points can be redeemed for a range of rewards, including discounts on purchases and meals at Ikea restaurants.
To earn points, simply present your physical or digital Ikea Family Card at checkout. For every £5 spent, members will earn one point—so a £20 spend will net you four points. Additionally, you can earn extra points by completing specific tasks, such as creating and saving a wish list or booking a planning appointment (excluding kitchen planning).
Once points are collected in your account, which may take up to 48 hours, you can choose from a variety of rewards. These rewards come with a voucher code that must be used within 30 days, or it will expire.
Launched in 2006, Ikea's Family Loyalty Club has grown to over 10 million members in the UK alone. The introduction of the points system is part of Ikea’s global strategy, with the programme already active in Australia, Italy, and Portugal. Linda Ha, Global Customer Engagement and Loyalty Manager at Ingka Group, which owns Ikea, stated, "In true Ikea style, we are giving customers an updated loyalty programme with more and better benefits."
An Ikea spokesperson added, "We're thrilled to enhance our Ikea Family programme with the introduction of rewards, offering our loyal customers exciting new perks and benefits."
