Woman Creates Incredible Pink Christmas Display For £300 Using B&M & The Range
- Chrissy Shaw, 26, wanted to create a gorgeous Candyland Christmas arch
- She bought products from The Range, B&M, Home Bargains and Inspiration Wholesale
- The entire display cost £300 to make and can be reused year after year
If you love pink and you love Christmas, you’ll fall head over heels for this gorgeously girly pink display.
Chrissy Shaw, 26, and her partner Callum Robertson, 30, who live in Portsmouth, created a stunning Candyland Christmas arch for their home.
Buying products from The Range, B&M, Home Bargains and Inspiration Wholesale, Chrissy spent £300 creating the jaw—dropping display.
Chrissy, who works as a social media and PR manager, told money-saving community LatestDeals.co.uk: “We are renting a flat at the moment as we are waiting for a new build and in the flat we didn’t really have room in the living room for a tree so we knew we wanted something.
“We had seen some TikTok videos of people using chicken wire and baubles to make Christmas decoration arches so thought we would give that a go.
"To be honest I had no idea what I was doing at the start.
"I live with my partner Callum who helped me put the chicken wire on the wall with command hooks.
"I had a bunch of baubles and feather boas from the year before but I got a few extra large and smaller baubles and more feather boas.
"I knew I wanted to have it all pink and rose gold so I also bought some Candyland pink decorations.
“To be honest, I wasn’t sure if it would work or they would end up elsewhere.
"I started scattering baubles, hooking them on the chicken wire with ornament hooks, and I hated it as I didn’t have a focus so I completely started again.
"I started on the bottom right-hand side and just started adding loads of baubles, mixing the sizes so it didn’t look boring and then from there started building it up.
"When it got to the bigger ornaments my partner used zip ties around them so I could hook an ornament hook to it and then hook that onto the wire.
"If I couldn’t get the hook to the wire I would use either another zip tie or some garden wire and bend it around the chicken wire and the tie on the ornament.
"My biggest tip would be to start in one focus point and work your way around the arch instead of adding bits here and there - I made that mistake.
"Fill gaps with larger ornaments, flowers, tinsel, feather boas or if they’re small gaps then the really small baubles.
"And then mainly just take your time. It took me an entire day and Callum's help when he got back from work but it’s so worth it.
"I got the Candyland decorations from Inspirations Wholesale, and all the other bits from The Range, B&M, Home Bargains or my local garden centre.
“The chicken wire cost £6, the hooks cost £4, the Candyland decorations such as candy canes, lollipops, hats, ice lollies, pink feather boas and more cost £250, the baubles cost £40 (they were £10 per pack of 50 from B&M) and the ornament hooks were £1 for 250 and I had two packs of them.
“In total, with all the decorations, the cost came to around £300.
"Even though I splashed out a bit on the decorations, they’re all my colour scheme and ones that I’ll use again and again - whether that’s in an arch again next year or on another tree or who knows what else.
"Because they’re individual decorations they can be used for whatever you want year after year or resell individually or in bulk if you want to switch it up one year!"
Chrissy, who shares her home decor on Instagram at @homeofcc, is delighted with how her transformation turned out - and says if you want to recreate the look, you can definitely keep costs down.
"I am in love with it,” she adds.
"I am so happy with how it turned out.
"The Candyland decorations boosted our costs up. If someone wanted to recreate it on a lower budget scale I would say just stick to multipacks of baubles from B&M, The Range and Home Bargains.
"You can get tinsel and feather boas from there too!”
Tom Church, co-founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, comments: “This display looks like it’s been created by a luxury department store!
“For £300, Chrissy and Callum have pulled off a beautiful Christmas arch that they can recreate year after year, making it a worthy investment.
“Shop-bought arches can cost double this and are often much less exciting to look at, so Chrissy and Callum have really done a fantastic job!"
