Anti Pee Paint Being Used by Soho Council to Stop Drinkers Urinating on Walls
In the News
Westminster City Council is ''splashing'' out on anti ‘pee paint’
It is a waterproof covering that repels any liquid sprayed against it causing it to bounce back at the source
They have done this because public urination in central London has increased significantly since Covid restrictions were lifted and cleaning up costs are nearly £950,000 a year on average
The Germans have been using this since 2015
So anyone leaving a pub or nightclub and deciding to relieve themselves against a newly painted wall in the early hours will need to dry themselves off before they get home
And good luck getting a taxi when smelling like a toilet
It's a pity this wasn't invented years ago to paint the inside of the old telephone boxes, people made more calls of nature in them than telephone calls at night
There are some modern outdoor pissoir toilets in the area, but not many. Most public lavatories have permanently closed in London (and elsewhere) and when it's late at night there aren't a lot of options. When people hear about this paint they will likely just urinate directly onto the ground.

tumblespots I think there has to be some force applied for it to bounce back T , i dont actually know though , just a theory
A good idea but is likely to be unworkable. The irresponsable person only have to find somewhere where there is no anti pee paint and the problem is not solved.

It could always be turned into another (former toilet) coffee house (www.latestdeals.co.uk/chat/victorian-toilet-coffee-shop). In an area already saturated with places to get a coffee. This is really taking the ....
