BrewDog Pays out Almost £500,000 after Misleading 'Solid-Gold' Claim
In the News
Here is one competition i wish i had entered
Brewdog had published a promotion involving customers being given the chance to win a 'solid-gold' beer can in packs of its popular beer.
Unfortunately the CEO had worded the offer wrongly , it was only supposed to be 'gold plated beer' cans
An actual solid gold can would have been worth about £363,000, but he managed to negotiate each can to the value of £15,000, but in the end he must have finally paid out less as £15,000 x 50 works out as £750,000 far more than the £470,000 amount stated, unless that was in addition to the original value of the prize, it doesn't really explain this properly
So according to the article the CEO ended up paying £470,000 to the fifty winners from his own pocket after tweeting the wrong offer
He is now left with 40 gold plated cans , no mention about the other 10 cans though ?
Maybe he could organise another competition with the leftover cans , only this time not use twitter to promote it
To be honest i cannot see that happening

It's a very expensive mistake but they are doing fairly well as a company so I imagine it won't affect them that much.

He knew what he was doing so glad it has backfired and he is now out of pocket. He isn’t a good person to work for either inews.co.uk/news/brewdog-open-letter-ceo-james-watt-rotten-workplace-culture-allegations-1045781
