Evri - Whose Had Problems ?

Ask a Question

*****UPDATE***** I have had my order refunded as it's been confirmed that the package is lost!

Wondering if anyone has had problems with Evri courier service ?

Ordered something from Vinted and this was the last message i had "Your parcel will be delivered to your chosen ParcelShop or locker today, and we'll let you know when it's ready to collect" that was 9 days ago.

Now saying should be by the 25th, as they are saying they are experiencing delays. Does not make sense to me at all!

I currently have a missing parcel. Said it was out for delivery on the 5th and then by the 8th it said there was a delay. Probably lost forever. If not here by Wednesday then I will have to contact the supplier for a replacement or refund 😔. Don’t normally have any issues. Our delivery man is usually 10/10

We are very lucky in our town that we have some lovely Evri (previously MyHermes) delivery drivers. Although when they go on holiday it tends to go pretty bad for those waiting for their parcels. I know they have even come home to parcels piled up in their garden after being on holiday, as their cover never bothered, they were left with a massive backlog and they were lucky the mass of parcels weren't all stolen or badly damaged.

I've never had an issue the few times I've sent using them and don't think I've had much trouble receiving from them either. But I'm lucky that I have neighbours who will take in or hide my parcels usually if they are left out.

I think it depends on the area you are in and where it is coming from.

Any problems you should contact the person you ordered from.

If you have any problems yourself then you can use their Help and Support page or online chat.

Yes I have the most recent was missing a package and kept saying it's delayed and will be the next day but still failed. Sender eventually sent a new one and when that arrived the box was wet and open and looked damaged. Another time is they said they tried to deliver but could not get in and no one was available, except it was to my work address of which was open and during the delivery period I was out side the front door taking a lunch break, doors were wide open, the other staff (1 other) saw nothing, no one actually turned up!. Near impossible to get hold of them in any situation. It makes me wonder if I should order from someone that uses them as it really puts me off.

I’m thinking of trying Evri as I’m having so many parcels go missing through Royal Mail at the moment. I’ve been selling on eBay for 6 years and up until 2-3 weeks ago I had only had 2 parcels go missing. In the last 2-3 weeks 5 are ‘lost’. I don’t sell much either !!!!

I've never had any issues with our local Evri drivers or the service. Always arrives on time and never any issues with packaging etc. I've heard of others having issues but luckily none so far.

Royal Mail are rubbish at the moment, I was meant to have one parcel collected today and one delivered but nothing. So many strikes and now Royal Mail are losing a lot of money so there will have to be mass redundancies to return to profit as they have lost many customers to other couriers many of which won't return. I'm using Yodel at the moment which like Evri/Hermes can be a bit hit an miss but not as bad as Royal Mail at the moment. I was meant to get my parcel last monday and no idea when I will get it but at least the item I have to send I can take to a post office or just post in a letter box.

BonzoBanana ParcelForce who are part of Royal Mail are getting sloppy, too.

They were supposed to deliver a notebook to me on Friday, but somehow they "couldn't locate the premises" so hopefully they'll not screw up on Monday. This is disappointing because I thought highly of ParcelForce (and they're not cheap).

Hermes had a little problems recently it's there just don't look after parcels is same as DHL I've just had my laptop back from the Mendes who I know the keyboard don't work so the damaged the keyboard so I'm going to have to fork out 3.99 to get it delivered picked up and sent to them dropping

I've heard a lot of bad stories about Evri/Hermes. The worst I've experienced so far is parcels being out for delivery then being sent back to the depot and sitting there for days or weeks. That's happened a few times.

I sell on Vinted quite a lot and never experienced a problem so far I know they have had a lot of delays recently. I'd keep and eye out and if you don't get it in the next week or so I'd contact and see where it is. If they don't know where it is then get a refund. I know you can also track the item too if you have ordered from Vinted as I always track stuff I've sold. Try and see if you can track the item and see where is it

I have not, but that's something that always concerns me.

However, I use their service for orders worth £35 (my max) while £50~100+ are sent via Royal Mail/ParcelForce.

An exception:

I'm going to sell a TV (sold for £80 though it cost me £120) and reckon I'll just risk sending via Evri as ParcelForce would charge too much (guess around £15-20 or more). They can't "lose" a package as big as this one so it'd be theft if it happened.

1splendid Yeah Hermes build up a very poor reputation and so they decided to change their name but is there anyone that doesn't know its Hermes that became Evri. It's all the same drop off locations etc. I just wonder if this type of rebranding every works or if it does if it would actually work in this instance for a courier. I find Evri more expensive than Yodel so I tend to use Yodel more anyway who have an equally poor reputation to be honest. It's the nature of couriers to have some poor staff I'm sure so its really a lottery.

I order quite frequently using Every and have had quite a few issues with next day delivery not arriving the next day (sometimes its 3 or even 4 days after) and also a lot of split parcels recently from different retailers which is unusual - apart from that luckily I've had no missing parcels so far 🤞

I have a package supposed to come via evri, already it's told me it's delayed. Last time that happened it disappeared. As soon as I saw it was being shipped via evri I gave up hope ever expecting it.

My local Evri delivery driver keeps leaving my neighbours parcels on my doorstep and running off before I even get the chance to tell her she's got the wrong house. It's been happening for weeks now, my neighbours and I are starting to get fed up

I have never had a problem with Evri myself, but I wouldn't worry too much. If you have a tracking number keep an eye out on that, if you still haven't received anything by end of the month I would be getting into contact with Evri

This is actually pushing customers to use Hermes, DPD, UPS, etc.

My package was stuck on it is being delivered to where you have stated at a local evri pickup point, I then contacted evri and got a response back, so probably worth contacting them about it.

non of the UK delivery couriers are any good ....its all about profit not customer service ..you are basically giving your money away in hope yes HOPE that you get the parcel that you are waiting for ..there are not enough staff ,delivery or depot/sorting and so they have to work under extreme pressure for low wages and long hours ...the whole system is a complete shambles ..only the CEO and Shareholders benefit ,you and the workforce suffer for it ..i mean look delivering a packet from A to B is not rocket science .i can drive anywhere in the UK Within one day ..and here you are 2/3 weeks later still waiting for a delivery ..its the 20th century ...horse & cart travel is History.

guitarstrings62 I recently sent a parcel by Yodel I dropped it off at the petrol station that is a drop off point for yodel and I guess the Yodel fan must have turned up a few minutes later as the parcel was delivered the same day and it was a 3 day economy service. I know this because in the evening the ebay customer posted positive feedback. I was well surprised with the speed and efficiency on this occasion.

Went to my local post office today and they weren't taking parcels at all. It wasn't explained why but I just went to the next nearest that were. Maybe they had no more storage for parcels as existing parcels hadn't been collected. Luckily there are so many post offices where as other couriers have limited drop off points.

guitarstrings62 So what postal companies are 'good' in your opinion?

There's DHL, UPS, DPD, and FedEx as far as more reliable parcel companies, but the majority prefer to use Royal Mail (+ ParcelForce), Evri, and even Yodel as they're much cheaper.

I'm currently annoyed with Royal Mail since I've not been getting any mail for about a week or two and it worries me if anything may go missing.

Always had problems with them (since long time ago when they were still called "Hermes"). They would claim they had attempted delivery even when I knew that they hadn't . I would give instructions to ring when outside the flat block but they chose not to . Once they even told me they didnt have access code to type in to the box outside the block .I was like "neither do I because there isn't one"! Thar just proves they were lying and no one had attempted delivery

My Evri will say its out for delivery then I get a message saying parcel is too large so needs a specialist delivery, on these occasions one was a pair of Pjs and the other was a cup. I was left confused. I however got the delivery a few days after.

I got a message off of evri saying they had received my parcels and they was in transit. After they didn't arrive after 7 days I clicked where's my parcel and it advised me to get in touch with the seller so they could raise the issue with evri, even tho they had sent me an email saying they had my parcels. I had to wait a further 4 days before I got a message saying they had lost my parcels and I would have to wait between 7-14 days for a refund. The seller has now refunded my money but she has had all her orders for that days work which was over 50 parcels all go missing/lost. She has not had any returns and I've not received any goods. How do you lose that many parcels? Evri has offered no reason for anything. All you get is they were lost in transit. I placed an order a few days later with a different company and evri was the parcel handlers. I did get the out for delivery email but then got a message to say there had been delays in getting my parcel to me. They said to look back the next morning for updates and there were no updates for 2 days. I clicked where's my order and just got package delayed check back in the morning for updates. 4 days later I got my package I was actually surprised I got it tbh. But it's almost impossible to contact evri

AlbieBen I use Evri via Parcel2Go and thankfully no parcels were lost, but I know there's always that risk when using them.

It's unacceptable and unprofessional they haven't changed their ways since the days they were Hermes.

PhilipMarc Unfortunately as a customer you don't get to pick who delivers your goods. You do take a risk when using them. But what got me with mine was that they were telling me to contact the seller even after they had emailed me that they had received my parcels and said they were in transit. Surly they can't expect you to blame or hassle the seller when the problem is with them. And how do they lose an order of over 50 parcels from the one seller. You get no apologies either from them. They can't be contacted either. I agree with you too, so unprofessional. But they keep their prices lower to get the business but fail to deliver (literally).

AlbieBen Low prices are definitely what keep them going and Yodel too (I absolutely refuse to use them).

And it doesn't help Royal Mail are on strike so it's a messy situation. I wonder when I'll even get mail, maybe starting next month. :-/
