It Turns out the Worst Seat on the Plane Could Be the Best

In the News

When i started reading this article i thought it is probably going to be rubbish advice, as i thought i knew most things about plane travel and always tend to try to pick the same seats each time

But for a change this advice makes sense

Some of the worst things on a flight are being kicked from behind, some kids love to do this, noisy people around you when you are trying to relax or sleep, the drinks trolley passing and hitting your legs and having to move constantly to let someone use the loo

This traveller always chooses the window seat at the back of the plane by the loos, and i imagine these places are always available

The advantages are there is nobody behind , just a wall , the trolley cannot come down that far and if you choose the window seat nobody will be asking you to move

The only downside is the occasional waft from the toilets when the door is open, nothing a quick spray of smelly doesn't solve

The trouble is if a lot of people read the article everyone will be requesting these seats and once the airlines get to know they will suddenly become premium seating

I've all but forgotten what an aeroplane looks like. It's been over 9 years since I've been on one. A wing seat will do me T. Image

MelissaLee1 That's my sort of lazy, half-way through drawing the picture I lose interest and can't be bothered to colour in the rest of it.

I have known this for years. Sadly you can't get a window seat unless the check in staff "likes" the look of you.

I usually go for these back seats so I will not kicked in the back, absolutely winds me up on a plane. The only problem recently was the airline changed the aircraft and our seats did not exist on the new aircraft!

eyeballkerry Watch out for further changes in the future E

I saw an article a while ago that the airlines are planning to put seats in two tiers , one above the other, so they can cram more in

You lost me at "The only downside is the occasional waft from the toilets when the door is open"

I usually sit about six rows from the front, left hand side, window.
